Teams of the Week
B Division Team of the Week: Shock
"Shock had a solid day winning all three of their games against each of the other B teams."
"Shock went from last place to second place in one weekend by winning all three games sunday! Great teamwork and attitude guys!"
"The Shock came back this week with three strong games to defeat all three other teams in the B Division. They were aided by solid defense, timely hitting, and a great pitching day."
C Division Team of the Week: Browns
"The Browns wentt 2 and 1 for the day. The two wins were really Classic wins. The first was against the Riptide - after allowing the Riptide to get 5 runs in the first inning the Browns did not allow a hit for the next 6 innings - a pretty amazing acomplishment. They retired the side in each of those innings except one and in that one only 4 batters came to the plate. The second win was against the Warhawks. It was a tough fought game that ended in a tie at the end of regulation time. They scored 3 runs in extra innings and held the Warhawks to one run to win the game. They did this all with just 10 players one of which pulled a hamstring and continued to play. The Browns have dedicated this season to Guy Bulltail and Guy would have been very proud of them on Sunday."
D Division Team of the Week: Dirty Dozen
"For giving 110 % during the game against saints" "Winning against the Saints in an overtime game!"
Players of the Week
B Division Player of the Week: George Aoyama (Maulers)
"George pitched and won all three games for the Shock on Sunday, only allowing 12 runs the entire day. He pitched brilliantly, and kept the hitters off balance the entire day to vault the Shock back up in the standings. He also fielded his position without error making some great plays and providing some timely hitting. Great job George!"
"George pitched for three wins and held the division leading Dirty Dawgs to just 1 run in our final game of the day!!"
C Division Player of the Week: Michael "Cougar" Koger (Browns)
"Michael played solid defense all day long making numerous stretching catches at first to get outs - he turned bad throws to first into outs on over 6 occasions on Sunday. His bat was also on fire - without looking at the book I beliebe he batted to close to .800 for the day."
D Division Player of the Week: Cisco Cornidez (Dirty Dozen)
"For his catch and tumble moves in outfield"
"Francisco made some amazing catches in the outfield during their tie-breaker agianst the Saints, which included jumping and rolling in the grass to ensure the outs!!!"
"Cisco was a key player in our win (Dirty Dozen) this week against the Number one D division undefeated team, The Saints. He made some amazing and acrobatic outfield catches that would have been key plays for the other team."
